Text Break Up

What you want from me: sex What I want from you: sex This is hook-up culture.  I have explained:  Transactional and conditional relationships fail.  Agreements must be made so everyone is on the same page.  We agreed we want to meet for sex.  Now you have asked that before we meet for sex, requiring one of us to travel to the other, that we must both travel to meet not for sex but for you to decide if you want to meet for sex.  You have gone back a step.  You are expecting me to go out of my way and pay extra expenses which there will be no guarantee of sex for.  I have explained to you this is exactly why I split up with my ex.  I have explained to you this is what is meant by transactional and conditional relationships.  I have explained to you that is not what I am looking for.  It is a control game.  You have changed the conditions.  You have changed the goalposts.  I can not spell it out much simpler than this.  We could get a hotel half way which will c

Editing & Beta Reading

EDITING & BETA-READING  1 - spacing  Editors and proof-readers have to read a lot, more than most normal people. We need it double-spaced. It makes it easier to read than a barrage of condensed words. Please double-space it. Make your work easy for people to read. 2 - alignment  Likewise alignment, justification. If your word processor cannot justify it to have the text straight down along both the left and the right margins, it is a bad word processor. Stop using it and get one which can do this function.  For example: SL notecards do not have this desirable feature. Newspapers always use the format.  While it looks pretty with words lapping like waves at the sea-shore along the right margin, this is improperly aligned. It is no longer the industry standard practice because it makes it more difficult to read.  3 - typeface It is not publicly advertised which fonts to use for the industry standard or it will become more confusing for professionals to sift newcomers from seasoned ha

Writing & Success

WRITING AND SUCCESS Have you decided to be a writer?  Behave that way. Write.  Have you decided to be a struggling writer?  Behave that way. Struggle.  Have you decided to be a successful writer?  Behave that way. Be successful.  How?  What is success to you?  What is a successful writer to you?  “I complete the manuscript.”  Good. One point.  “My books sell.”  That is a successful capitalist. It is a whole different thing to being a writer. One point.  “Everyone knows my pen name.”  That is fame. You can get that by blowing up parliament. Not so much to do with writing. One point.  “My printed books are influential, cherished and preserved for many generations yet to come.”  Excellent. That is a successful writer. One point.  Which of those four points is a successful writer?  They all are. That is how we should behave.  We now have goals and structure.  “How do we achieve all that?”  -Complete the manuscript. This requires focus and time. Perfect the story.  -Sell copies. This requir

Sexual Relationships

A long, elaborate answer to a beautiful topic.  “How often do you have sex? How many people have you had sex with?”  Not nearly as many as I would have liked and not nearly as often as I would have liked.  I would prefer one regularly partner forever than more than one more rarely.  I didn’t have regular monogamy even though I repeatedly tried for it. So instead I had serial monogamy which is the same as occasional polygamy.  I don’t think this makes me promiscuous given how I wasn’t having a lot of different people within a short time period. Although as I get older what ‘a short time period’ means had changed from days to weeks to months to years.  Only twice have I had two girls on the same day and now I don’t get one girl in two years. I know men and women who at one time were going as many as five a day regularly. That’s how I judge promiscuity and I am not that.  What’s my opinion on it now? I don’t care any more. The mistake I made in the past was assuming I had to jump throug

Overcoming

Although they made me, these  bo oks frightened me because they were about destabilisation. I had it recognised that for a long time by which time I felt my life was mostly done. Letting go of who I had become gave me a new lease of life finally undamaged from the things I had assimilated as a child.  The power of books on the imagination which projects into the world to manifest experiences. It is little wonder I have been fraught so long by abrasive experiences.  Only this year as I and others assimilate the diagnosis of high functioning autism can I began to gain hope the world is not at odds with me as it has been. A more accurate navigation. An understanding with what I am and what I am dealing with and for others to orientate around that. It helps tremendously. It is the hanging of a tool on the right hook, putting a thing in place where it belongs that it is not out of place.  My, how they have hated upon the round peg which simply refused to go into the square hole they force

A Settlement

They built the infrastructure to last. They recognise they were living at a time of having an ability to do that. They also recognise the historic president, the descendants might not have the ability to do that. They plan ahead across many generations using the best of their resources and technologies to create a sustainable , system for future generations. Sustainability means indefinite. They had to think of everything. For the most part they did. The settlement is a plateau with a hollow centre, fields open to the sky with a hard light holographic dome canopy the ring is a toll hall, the top of which contains rain catchment river which filters toward the centre of the crater area. The walls are strong, heat fused silicate clay there are caves internally but not externally. They are gates in and out of the settlement these use simple weights and measure systems augmented by hydraulics.

Rat Men

Although the older generations approach to it has been superseded, and replaced, they have not given up with what they’re doing. They are what they are so they continue to do what they do in addition to, in parallel to, interchangeably with, the newer upgraded ways of doing it.  Apply this to all things. If I were to approach that I would consider two things, in how the story is presented. People (the reader) need to orientate; so we cling to something familiar. That means a historic precedence. It's useful that a lot of European history is an awareness of 'history repeating itself' which is largely to do with progress being two steps forward and one step backward.  We had the dark ages after the fall of Rome so cultural progress had first to stabilize, which took over a thousand years, before it can progress, the Rennaissance period was a high point which led to the industrial revolution a few centuries later, which led to World War. Within that, are areas where one smal
