  A long, elaborate answer to a beautiful topic.  “How often do you have sex? How many people have you had sex with?”  Not nearly as many as I would have liked and not nearly as often as I would have liked.  I would prefer one regularly partner forever than more than one more rarely.  I didn’t have regular monogamy even though I repeatedly tried for it. So instead I had serial monogamy which is the same as occasional polygamy.  I don’t think this makes me promiscuous given how I wasn’t having a lot of different people within a short time period.   To tell that protagonist story, we have to hold it into form.   I found from training animals and children very often the best approach is to give them the space they need to be who they are, for them to work it out without pressure. As long as they’re not causing problems for people there is no need to restrict them. Often it’s imposing restrictions causes the problems. Some people that gives an outlet for them to express that, some argue it’s necessary to do that. Most of the time it simply goes away by itself without any need for imposing upon them.
